Here is the recent email from Lulu with information on Reunion fees and hotel reservations at the Doubletree-Hilton Jax.

Kuyas, I am pleased to advise you that all of the arrangements have finally been made for our 2016 Reunion to be held from May 10th to 15th in Jacksonville, Florida at the Doubletree-Hilton Riverfront Hotel. I was recently able to visit the hotel and the surrounding area and believe that this will be a wonderful hotel for our Reunion. If you wish to attend, you need to both sign up for the Reunion Registration Fee that will cover the cost of your meals, hospitality suite snacks and beverages and T-shirt, and reserve your room through the hotel reservation site. For those who plan to drive, the hotel is conveniently located near I-95, for those who plan to fly the hotel is less than 10 miles from the Jacksonville Airport, and for those who might wish to take the train, the station is quite near the hotel. A special thanks to Cy, Blanton and Random for their help in sorting out all the details as this always requires a great deal of planning just to get to this point – now it is your turn to sign up! Here's an email update and reminder from Mike "Lulu" Gilson dated January 8th 2016:

Kuyas,
If you have not already done so, it is time to make your plans to join us for our 2016 Reunion to be held from May 10th to 15th in Jacksonville, Florida at the Doubletree-Hilton Hotel.  For those of you who have not previously attended a reunion, or may not have attended for a while, I want to give you just a flavor of what you can expect.

§  About 40% of the Kuyas arrive on Wednesday, 50% arrive on Thursday, and the remainder arrives on Friday.

§  The Hospitality Suite opens for business on Wednesday and remains open around the clock until late Saturday night.  The hospitality suite is fully stocked with snacks, beer/wine/soft drinks, etc and is included in the cost of your registration fee.
§  Thursday evening we have a Filipino buffet in the hospitality suite – also complimentary

§  Friday during the day, the chasers of little white balls will play golf – details to be provided while many folks will sightsee or spend the time in the hospitality suite catching up.

§  Also Friday morning is a brunch for the wives and girlfriends at a local restaurant – cost is included in your registration fee.

§  Friday night we will take a river launch from the landing below the hotel to a fun restaurant across the river for dinner and drinks – also included in your registration fee.

§  Saturday evening is our annual banquet that is a wonderful event with a great meal, presentation of a donation to a local Veteran’s organization, and entertainment – all presided over by our master MC Kevin “PooH Bear” Brown.  The cost of the meal is also included in your registration fee.

We have continued to work very hard to make the Reunion as affordable as possible so that hopefully anyone who wishes to attend can join us – note that nearly all expenses are covered under the Registration Fee – breakfast is covered under the hotel registration.

As we continue to get older, we unfortunately are losing our brothers way too quickly so the Reunion becomes even more important to the bond we created those many years ago in a far off land while serving our country.

Please e-mail me or call me: 925-766-6114 with any questions.
