Reunion 2003 Page 3 Letters and Pictures and Chance Visit
Here's another page of memories from the great Reunion 2003 get together in Saint Louis. Included are three letters; one from President Bush another from Governor Bob Holden of Missouri; and, follow-up and Thank You letters from the VA Hospital where Chance lives.

The Kuya Fund, officially started at Reunion 2003 in Saint Louis, is only the latest product of all of us getting back together. For those who may have forgotten, Kuya is Tagalog for "Brother" and we are all Brothers, not of Blood but of Spirit. God Bless Us All and Thanks for the opportunity to reconnect and share great memories and good fortune with our Kuyas.
Here are two letters to be especially proud of as veterans of the U.S. military. To the left is a letter from and signed by President George Bush expressing his appreciation for our
service and patriotism. Above is a letter from the Governor of Missouri extending greetings and the pride of the State Missouri for the 6922nd choosing St. Louis for our Reunion.
Here's a special letter from the Nursing Supervisor at the Illinois Veteran's Home where our Kuya Chance lives. The Kuyas donated money in honor of Jim "Lynn" Chance and plan on installing a stereo system along the hall that Chance lives. This is again a true testament of the depth and caring for all of the folks in the Kuyas brotherhood, regardless of flight, because we all have a bond that can never be equaled. Let's keep up the 6922nd Kuya Spirit of giving and caring.

Here's a very personal and sincere Salamat Po! from the State of Illinois Department of Veteran's Affairs, the Quincy Veteran's Home for the donation from the 6922nd Kuya Fund. It's gratifying to know that after all of these years we continue to contribute to our own. The donation was used to purchase a 10-speaker stereo system for Chance's floor that ties into an existing system of the Quincy Home to provide music to the entire building. As the letter states, Chance knows about the gift from his Kuyas. Enjoy the pictures below of our visit with Chance!
Pictures from the reunion with Lynn Chance
Chance has a surprise encounter with his PI kuyas. Looks like he's asking if it's time to leave the chow hall and head out for the CBL.
Not too bad, eh? The nurse evens runs out to the sari-sari store and sneaks in Magoos
Even after all of the years, nothing dampens the Kuya friendships
The Gang: Mark Vellinga, Mike "Lulu" Gilson, Jim Chance, PJ Shingleton, Gary "Shade Tree" Schade and Buzz "Bozo" McManus
Lulu explains that Marko may require nursing assistance because of a PI Shakem-Up that is still lodged in his gall bladder after 35 years. That may be why his tongue is stuck out.
The Kuyas presented Jim Chance with his Reunion 2003 T-Shirt.
Chance is happy but is thinking...All that 6922nd carrying on and
all I got was this T-Shirt. Where's the bar fine for the hammer of my choice?
Lulu tries to explain that PJ didn't mean to blow cookies on the back of the T-Shirt...it was the Magoos and the baloot. PJ, dutifully, bows over the table in case he needs to conduct ritualistic hari-kiri
Hey, Nurse Ratchett, I told you...those Animals talked about your su-sus and trying to go for the shot, not me! A little less juice in the anal electrodes, please!
The Quincy Vet Home administrator joins the Kuyas for a group picture. And, to the Kuyas in the shorts....Weebles wobble but they don't fall down!
