Yep, another pic of the Hospitality suite patio. Hmm, looks like some folks just switched chairs or maybe just a changing of the guard.
Everyone must have been chowing down heavy because there are only a few pictures taken. The Filipino food was provided by Woody's wife and daughter, Wisconsin bratwursts from Hippo and homemade Italian sausage from Tom and Lu LaFranca. Cy and Norm got the accoutrements. Well, Norm waited in the car and Cy shopped! Both were excellent at their assigned tasks.
The charcoal grill in the foreground and a cook were supplied by the hotel. Gary "Shade Tree/Chicken Breast" Schade explains chicken is not on the menu to his wife, Joanne, Tom and Lu Lanfranca, Tom and Trudy Kennedy and Connie Orbin. Why are they perched at the door to the hospitality suite? Oh, the bathroom....Maybe they are the older folks?
Darrell "Woody" Wood's wife, Elenita, and daughter, Stephanie, were kind enough to provide Filipino food for the BBQ. It was all delicious and took us back to our days in the PI. A large Salamat Po! The food was outstanding and reminded me of the Shanghai Restaurant!!
Banquet, Karaoke and Our People
The Kuya Reunion 2010 ended with our Kuya Banquet, organized by the incredible Cy Cybulski with an outstanding DJ that Norm and Miki located, a Remembrance of our Kuyas who have passed by Pooh Bear, and a few words by the Head Vulture speaking through Lulu Gilson.
Fantastic! Good food and lots of karaoke. It dosn't get any better than this!
Glenn "The Saint" Gillette explains that the right hand turned upward is the first dance move of the Marcarena. Next he showed how to dance the Filipino dance with bamboo poles called Tinikling where you end up with bruised ankles.
We were honored to have Mike and Don Quate, our beloved Kuya Dave Quates' brothers, and their lovely wives at the reunion banquet. Pictured here with Cy. Hmm, are they wondering if Cy might be a little tetched from all that Philippine sun?
Hippo arriving. He'll get Cy straight
Miki and Norm Collins arrive. Norm didn't keep that smile all night but we understand why. Where is that goober waiter that took Miki's camera? I'll hit him so hard his daddy will fall down!
Rob White smiles for the official photographer,
Darryl "Ratman" Ratcliff.
Bob "Goat Roper" Strand flashes his pearly whites for the camera.
Ed "Parnelli" Payne moves in for a close up. Um, too close!
Cy looking straight again after counseling session with Hippo.
After a long time, it was great to see Keith and Miki Wise at the reunion.
Zootman with Miki and Norm Collins. Zoot, is that an NSA emblem T-shirt? Your cover's been blown....Is that why you're sweating?
Fred "Magoo" and LeeAnn Miguel cheezing for the camera. No wine this time...bummer! We can drink Pogi's rum!
Don and Connie Orbin seem to find the receiving line photographer amusing. Don laughs at everything!
Gary "Shadetree" and Joanne Schade slipped through the line to get to a table. The photographer, Ratman, is in the background so he must have passed the camera to his lovely wife, Michele, for this pic.
Tim and Laurie Patafio looking good. Tim is trying to show his good side. Didn't work!
Satch and Jen Sexton are having a good time...note the San Miguel in front of Jen.
Cy greets Steve (Timmie Bear) and Carolynn Kavanaugh
Kram: "Has anyone seen Kathy? I'm looking for a basket to wear!" Kathy: "No, he's not wearing a basket on his head this year! I had to give him CPR after his dance in Cincinnatti! He liked that too much!"
Kevin "Pooh Bear" Brown has that look that lets you knowing he's up to something. We see that look often!
Like Pooh Bear's look, you can always tell that
Al "Pogi" Shirley is up to something. He must have found the rum!
Si Bob and Mouse reliving the "Batman and Robin" adventure during the June 1969 UFO Beer Blast at the Blue Eagle

But Always Remembered))
Kuya and Kuyette Mug Shots
Wanted. These are some scary folks. There are too many felonies to list. Do not approach without a drink! (Unfortunately, the other mug shots were lost with Miki's camera.
The Riverwalk view from the street with the hotel on the left.
OMG! A double Miki! Sore wa sugoi na!
Si Bob sitting with Joanne and Timmy Patafio. What's with the finger thing?
Miki Wise takes a pic of the grill?
Norm with Marv and Ma Bea Campbell
Norm surveys the chow down
Hippo attends to the brats
Tim, Norm and Ed give a Magoo salute
Ma Bea and Marv observes the affair
Don Newton rocks back after a long day at the golf course. What too many 3 putts?
Norm tells Cy he only gets 5 minutes in the store before Norm leaves in the car. But Norm, I get stressed out with speed shopping!
Pogi continuously worried about the rum or lack thereof.
Pooh Bear surveys the crowd in amazement and amusement. It don't get no better than this!
Either the Queen has arrived or we're at the Kentucky Derby. You look good in hats Laurie!
Jen Sexton, LeAnn Miguel and Laurie Patafio sharing secrets? Hmmmm!
Fred and LeAnn Miguel getting their sea legs while Jen Sexton may be getting seasick or is worried about birds dive bombing.
Joanne Harris appears to be praying with Ratman and Michele watching. Maybe she's praying Si Bob's safety. He'll be okay...he's wearing a Mae West life vest. The river is only a few feet deep. Heck, he dog paddled Pangisnan Falls in the PI.
Joanne and Si Bob Harris arrive. Si Bob looks around for Norm just in case there might be a tussle brewing. Don't worry, just brothers greeting each other - a symbl of love and caring..
Bob "Swede" Swanson and Rob White appear to be plotting how to get the rum from Pogi while Pooh Bear and Lulu try to overhear the plot.
Tom Folkes stands with Mouse. He doesn't look all that happy about it but Mouse is so happy he's apparently lapsed into a coma.
Gil and Pam Koss arrive at the banquet. Gil was Fly Eberhardt's roomie in Turkey.
Henry "Redwolf" Wolf, a friend of Zoot from the 6921st SW Misawa AB, Japan.
Mouse started the karaoke session with "Sukiyaki" sung in Japanese, especially for Miki Wise and Miki Collins. Mouse learned the song in Japanese when he was in Misawa, Japan...his voice may be crap but it got him a lot of free drinks in Japanese Stand bars.
Stick with James Brown.
After Si Bob's sessions with Norm, Miki and Joanne, he invited Mouse to sing Merle Haggard's "Silver Wangs", a Si Bob favorite from the PI. Has Si Bob left the building? No way! He didn't care that he'd forgotten is silver lame' jumpsuit.. He has more tunes to croon!
Norm, Miki and Joanne join Elvis Harris (Hot Mamas and Real Old Papas) in a song. With three pics you can tell they were a hit. I suspect with Norm and Si Bob there was a lot of country twang!
Satch, inspired by Si Bob, belts out his own tune. Why the hand in the pocket? Don't even want to fathom a guess.
Looks like Cy is singing to Norm but Norm insisted on leading. After a few too many belly bumps, see the next picture.
Norm decides to end the dance with a quick spin and take down.
Cy should heal by Kuya Reunion 2011.
