The pictures on Page Two have both PI and Pre-PI pictures
Kevin "Pooh Bear" Brown's Farewell Party
From Left: "Chap" Chapital, Tony Leffin, Jack DuBrian, Donny "Pants" Pierce, Mike "Lulu" Gilson, 2 U/I Hammers, "Mouse"
Front: Pooh Bear and Mila, His Main Squeeze
Terry "Fly" Eberhardt and Mick Ogulewicz with U/I Guy on a beach in Turkey
Fly playing Bay Watch with a Roundeye in Turkey
Or was Mick transformed from the other picture?
Pogi and a U/I Hammer. No those are not facial blemishes. They were on the picure that had been hidden in his wallet these many years. Well, maybe. What did you do when you took the pic out?We don't want to know about the spots!
Jug Heaven - Front Row L-R: U/I in Meditation, Tom Dickson, Al "Pogi" Shirley, Ron Samson, Jimmy "Zit Zit" Meola
Second Row: Grunches of hammers with Connie the Flower Girl, John Duncan and Leoni in the middle
Back Row Guys: Ken "Kram" Kramarsic (leaning on wall), Vic "Chili Bean" Kelly and Lulu the Hammer in front of him, Nel, Keith Wise, Jack Sverchek, Tim Wright (with his hand circuitously engaged with the hammer in front of him), and a U/I Guy
Can anyone fill in any names? This picture appears to be Duncan's Farewell to the PI?
A Pogi Farewell Party ? Front R-L: U/I GI, Nel, Tex; Second Row: U/I Hammer, Al "Pogi" Shirley, Hammer, a row of Derby hammers, Next Row: Two guys hiding their faces behind glasses (Pogi says Leonard Kowalski, possibly a fictitious name, and a Able flight 202 named Keller and three U/I GIs. Can anybody fill in the names? Please note that Fely loves Pogi like a brother (he didn't get none as Si (Brother) Pogi). But the hammer hanging around his neck appears to be putting a drug in his drink. I think that's Rose. There's Elsa, Remy, Fely, Mila, Lucy, Rose, just can't pin a name to a face. Even Krambo signed the outside but he's not in the picture. This looks like it could be entitiled "Name That Huk". I vote Pogi!! He has that Huk-elberry look on his face
Tom LanFranca taking a break on long break at Blue Beach. Notice the Nipa huts you could rent. I recall that sometimes had one bare light bulb if any electricity at all.

Connie, Lorna, and Luz from the Jug.
From flowers and peanuts....
This is Pooh Bear's autographed photo of Chit and the Madisons. This must have been when his nickname in town was "Brownie". Not to many of us used that one....
Here's a view from the 5204 barracks that I'm sure we all remember staggering up the stairs to the shiny concrete to change clothes and head to Town or running down half dressed to get to work on the blue bus to Eight-Pibe-Oh. The Animals were on the second floor above the HQ and chow hall. How the hell did the cobras get into the barracks and who remembers the earthquake that chased us all outside in our underwear. Remember the french louver windows. Oh yeah, that really cooled things down.
Don Keyes, Baker Flt, was on the same trip with Tom to Blue Beach
It didn't matter what flight you were on you had to have a Cobra Den Unit Mug. These were good for the unit parties but nothing seemed to beat sucking on the brown neck of a San Magoo or whatever. How many of you kuyas have your Cobra Den Mugs? Photos compliments of Tom "TK" Kapish
Molly the Go-Go Girl at the Fiesta in Biloxi taken May 1967
Gary "Shade Tree" Schade with two Flower Children. The picture is dated December 1970 but that may be the processing date. If it is December in St. Louis, I'll bet those concrete parking place bumps they're sitting on are cold as hell. The two ladies are two of Tree's best friends from the ZI. I can see why, quite pretty, I like the plaid. Tree is protecting himself with his Kodak 35 millimeter in his lap. There have been size stories....An Animal can never be too careful but what's the picture going to look like from there? Note the blue GTO in the background if you can get past the maganda roundeyed hammers.
Here's a pic courtesy of Charlie Ballew that had been in his wallet for many years of he and other Baker Boys seriously contemplating the festivites of Balibago or bemoaning the fact this foursome struck out at the Buckaroo.
Jerry Farmer sent these pics from the mid-60s. Jerry Farmer on the left side. Richard “Dick” Barry is in the middle. Don Reeves is the tall guy on the right. This was taken around September 1966. Dick was from Connecticut and Don was from Havre De Grace Maryland. I hope Dick was catching rays, just got down from the roof and ain't letting anything but his legs hang off the top bunk!
Looking left to right…Jerry Farmer, Tommy (can’t remember his last name), David “ Rudy” Rudinski. Pappy Shilling and Jack (can’t remember his last name either). This was taken in September 1965. I had just been there a couple of days and with a little help from my friends soaking up the atmosphere at the airman’s club.
6922nd SW Barracks and Mess Hall. Also, home of the Cobra Den
Before the 6922nd SW the unit was the 6925th Radio Group Mobile in the 1950s
How many of these did you spend? Used to be $1 = 4 Pesos. As of 2009, $1 = 48.5 Pesos. That's okay but the price of San Miguel and everything else has skyrocketed.
Don Orbin's last night in the PI with fellow Dawgies. Front L-R: Mike Mesi, Joe Kirin, Tom Lear (he always looks like he has a permanent buzz), Bill Jursac, Zemy. Back L-R: Skinny Werner, Bill Hurst, Don Orbin, Lifer guy. Don was heading to the ZI getting out of the war. Bye Bye, GI, No more PI.
